Mind Reading

Since when did this become the most important skill to have. I've never seen it in a job description but apparently it is the most important "skill" to have in my job. And where can I take a class in it [I wonder if they offer it as a telecourse]. Here I thought it was a gift and only special people had it but now it seems to be a requirement.

Oh yes, bad day at work. All I've done for the past 5 1/2 hours is change, change and more change. [oh I did run out to pee once and once to grab lunch but the rest of the time it has been stuck to my computer. And I wonder why my shoulder hurt so bad] And if I had mind those mind reading skills, my life would be so much less stressful.

I should have gone out for a walk a 1/2 hour ago to work out some of this stress. Oh, well back to work--what other craziness do I have in store for the next 2 hours.

My morning walk

myWalk

One of the road in my neighborhood has been close for about a week, meaning all the traffic (crazy commuter traffic) is being diverted up and around to my street. So instead of torturing my carpool mate (with the crazy commuter drivers) I decided to walk up to bus station to meet her.

Just a quick 10 minute walk, past a river and a wooded area, I decided to take a pic of the fall colors on the side of the road, partially to distract me from the crazy lunatics drive up the hill trying to get to the bus station. I hope I distracted the lunatics enough to slow down for a second.

Brownies

Been wanting to test this brownie recipe for a while. Thought that it probably would sell well at the restaurant. So I left the restaurant early today, [I was crabby, not a good mood for being around people] and decided to bake.

First things first, cheesecake. Needed to get this week's cheesecake done. [check]

I've made these brownies before, it is very chocolate-y. Over a pound of chocolate [no, wait, it's closer 2 pounds] divided into 20 pieces. I wanted to test them to see if the customers would like them. And of course, I'll bring some into the office. They are really my official taste testers [last weeks tasting was nutella rice crispie treats, thumbs up].

I must admit this baking sure help my bad mood [or could it be I just need a break from the restaurant].

Clouds

clouds

Quite often on my commute [too long], I see these crazy cloud formations from on coming bad weather that I just want to pull over and take a picture of. But I know better not to cause rush hour craziness by pulling over to take picture of the sky [rubbernecking :)].

But yesterday as I was leaving the restaurant, the clouds were in rare form and I got my picture. They almost looked photohop'ed. You could tell something big was coming, they were moving and changing shape so quickly.

Being an adult

I guess since I'm now 50 years old, I should behave like one. So I've decide that I'd stop pouting (or my exact word--stop being bitter) over a something that's already done and I can't change. Things happen for a reason and I guess there was a good reason for it to happen.

I truly believe there is no such thing as "lucky" and luck is what we make it. So I better get on with what luck I want to make. I've been feeling that "making" spirit lately and I hope that grabs hold soon and I can start turning one my passions into something bigger.

Stay tune . . .

Things that I don't want

So nothing wrong with truck, WG decided to install the remote starter in the truck. Something I didn't want.

No wonder all the mystery. I hope this doesn't give me trouble. It's the last thing I want in the truck. Why can't somebody ask me first?
Annoyed!

Waiting for my ride

WG attempts to call me 3x this afternoon. All I hear is "hello?" "hello?"
I finally reach him. And he said, "Can you get home by 6:30?"
"I guess, why?"
"Need to drop the car off."
So I'm thinking something is wrong with his car. Not realizing I had a 4-5 meeting, I make a mad dash out of the office @ 4:50. I hit all kinds of traffic, I pull in to my driveway @ 6:35. He's no where to be found. I pick up my phone to find 2 message--Why doesn't he know I don't pick up the phone while driving. So I called him and to be told to drop the truck off at the Honda dealership.

Now wait, I thought it was his car we dropping off. What is wrong with the truck? To make this very long story shorter, it's a 1/2 hour since I dropped the car off and I'm still waiting and I need to use the bathroom cause I made mad dash here.

Why do I even try!

Still hot!

So I got the portable air condition. Happy! Got great sleep for about a week, then last night happen. I was hot, hot and more hot. Couldn't get comfortable all night and woke up with a terrible headache that lasted all day and I still have it. Feeling nauseated but got through the day without having to throw up. I guess that was one good thing that happen today! Who said I'm the girl with the glass half empty. Ha!

I hope I can make through the night without sweating to death. You would think I would be the skinniest thing with all the sweating I'm doing. But no, I'm just a chubby girl (okay, middle-age woman) that kind of stinks. Old sucks!

So I got a portable air condition for the bedroom

Because I've been struggling with being incredibly hot and waking up with terrible dream of being unable to breath. I've tried sleeping on the cool wood floors but that get's painful after a while. So, I'm sure WG just wants me to stop complaining about being hot and got it for me.

I'm looking forward to sleep tonight. Nice and cool with maybe the covers on me.

The change of season

I'm usually suffering from terrible allergies this time of year. Who knew the neti pot and a vacation to Hawaii saved me from my terrible honking cough. I think I planned the perfect time to be away from my giant pine tree in front my house.

But change in weather, is killing my sleep. Too hot doesn't mix well with fluctuating hormones. Especially when these stupid "hot flashes" come at bedtime. It was AC and fan for me.

blinkers

When I started the blog, I thought I would write about being hot, my horrible commute and all the stuff I've making. Well, overall, my horrible commute has gotten a lot better since (sad to say) the economy has gotten bad. I don't think as many people are commuting work as before so I don't get stuck in 2.5 hour commute several times a week.

So anyway, as I was driving to work today, I came up with a little topic for discussion. BLINKERS AND WHY WE HAVE THEM. According to much of the drivers on the road with me this morning they are not necessary because I can mind read when they will be cutting off. I wish there was another part to mind read that I could send messages to these people. Oh the joy of commuting to work.

Be careful what you ask for

Remember a couple a posts back, I wanted something to do. Well, got something to do and it has turn into my biggest regret. This "something" has turned around and bite me in the butt too many time. I feel like I'm on a reality show and decided to help others out and the whole group conspires to vote me off.

If there is any lessons learned from this "something" then I've learn to NOT to volunteer and help out the team and to remember I always something to do, even if it is sitting and staring into my blank screen.

Sorry about venting but I have to go into work tomorrow and thought this would help me face my "reality show' of a job.

something to do

Sometimes all you need is something to do. Today is my day for looking for something to do. I knew today would be waiting to see if any work would be coming my way and nothing has come. I should have know better to bring a book or some knitting project.

I've done all what I could do—bills, rescheduled a doctors appointment, emailed a friend, look up patterns that I want to knit and crochet . . . I even looked for tickets for my CA trip this June. And still I need something to do.

I have an hour to go at work. Tomorrow, I'll bring in my kindle and some knitting but watch, I'll have lines out my door with people wanting me to do work for them.

sleeplessness

I know I haven't been posting as I thought I would. I got a bit of the sleeplessness after my sister and niece left. I'm at least sleeping now but not all the way through the night. I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon at this time of my life.

Wish I could figure out what to do about the heat. Lately, I've taken too lying on my cool wood floors in front of the air condition vent for a while until I feel cold. WG and I rearranged the bedroom today, maybe this will be a cooler layout, farther away from the windows. I'm also thinking of getting a small fan to blow directly on me (C-nP will really hate that).

I'm looking for to the cold weather, hopefully then I'll feel normal and may get a better nights sleep. Oh wait, I forgot last winter began the violent wiping off of the covers.

Enough about my "hot". I'll try and post The Great Wild West, Part 2 this week. And I wanted to get some of things I've been making up to share.

Being hot

I should have known that this temperature thing would be as dreadful as it sounds. My mom had her own battle cry with beads of sweat suddenly appearing on her face and body. Her cry wasn’t as whine-y as mine, it was just not her style. It was more like gasp or sudden expression of the moment. And little did I know at the time, she was superhero fighting her own battle of fluctuating body temperatures. I wonder what her superhero name is.

She did have a motto and she often said it to me, “Don’t laugh, it’s going to happen you one day! I should have known better.
