My morning walk

myWalk

One of the road in my neighborhood has been close for about a week, meaning all the traffic (crazy commuter traffic) is being diverted up and around to my street. So instead of torturing my carpool mate (with the crazy commuter drivers) I decided to walk up to bus station to meet her.

Just a quick 10 minute walk, past a river and a wooded area, I decided to take a pic of the fall colors on the side of the road, partially to distract me from the crazy lunatics drive up the hill trying to get to the bus station. I hope I distracted the lunatics enough to slow down for a second.

Today's walk

Went for my Sunday walk in Donaldson Park. The poor park too such a beating for the last weekend's floods. I think the water was at least 4 feet-- the debris on the chain link fence was that high. It's such a nice little park right on the water. I guess that's the price you pay for water front property.

So I walked 2 hours today, ran a little in between. Still can't get myself going on the running.

I was exhausted when I got back. Took a shower then a nap for an hour. I hope this exercise help with the hotness tonight. Sleep has been very disrupted, waking up in burning heat.

Snowy day adventure

On the snowy new year's eve, I went on a mini adventure with almost famous mountainman into woods of Rutger Gardens.

Spotting an animal tracks
The first thing he spots are animal tracks. Bear? he shout as he points in the prints.

Stream
The raging river that we had to cross.

Reflections and leaves
My guide trained me look for sign of danger. Instead I looked for things to shoot with my iphone

Mountainman
Look! Tree. Oremiah explained. Does it have special healing powers? I asked. I don't know, just a tree.

Footprints
More tracks in the snow, I think those are Oremiah footprints.

Another tree

So here's my adventure on New Year's eve after the morning snow. WG got my iphone up and running (as many of you notice from FB posting) and I wanted to start taking pictures with it. If it clears anything up, WG has been quite interested in Jeremiah "liver-eating" Johnson since we came back from Yellowstone this summer.

My walking path

Been back to longish walks the past 2 weeks. The weather has been cooperating, in fact, it's been a bit warm for my taste. 10 miles the first week and 8 miles last week, hope I can keep it up for a while.

Here's some pics of the path that we walk on. It's D&R canal path. It's great, there are so many birds to see. I think I saw a blue heron on the way back from my 10 mile. Anyway, I thought I'd share the beautiful day we had. The light was beautiful.
